Eleanor + Zach

Eleanor and Zac reached out to me through Instagram and I was super excited because they said they had been referred to me by Eric Floberg! Eric was a mentor of mine, a Chicago-based photographer/videographer, and just an incredible human being. His work is even more so incredible and as a filmmaker and individual, I really look up to him.

My initial conversation was great with both Eleanor and Zac, we got along well and they are both charming and fun to talk with. Hailing from the great city of Chicago, Eleanor and Zac were really incredible individuals. Eleanor had started her own business and Zac was a big manager over at the Fish Supply Company. After our discussion, we all knew that I would be perfect for their day and I was honored they chose me to capture it.

Fast forward to their wedding day it was a warm day in June and summer of June 2021. It was held up at the Auberge Lodge at the Blue Sky in Wanship, Utah. Their first look was up in the resort and one of the most tender and genuine first looks I’ve been able to witness. You can just tell how excited and how much they loved each other. I think that first looks really depend on the couple, and as a Utah wedding videographer, I’ve seen it be very common to have them away from their wedding day. Personally whichever way you feel is most important or special to you is what I think is important.

Their ceremony was a beautiful combination of both of their Jewish and Christian heritages and it was intertwined perfectly representing both religions. Both Eleanor & Zach were beaming at each other throughout the entire ceremony. After breaking a glass bottle (a Jewish tradition) to complete their marriage ceremony everyone mingled in the open grass areas for drinks and hor de vers. Candid moments of people talking and enjoying each other’s company are probably one of my favorite things to capture at weddings. I think it shows people most naturally as they enjoy themselves on such a beautiful and momentous day for the couple they care about. I couldn’t think of a better place to host their wedding than it was in the mountains of northern Utah.

We then moved on to dinner where they were greeted by everyone standing and clapping for the commitment and decisions that they made to each other. Dinner was fantastic provided by LUX Catering and soon after everyone had eaten a little bit family members got up to give toasts. This was the first time that I have ever been able to capture toasts at the wedding and I can definitely say that they can be so pure and genuine and show just how much love the people have for Eleanor & Zach.

A very sudden rainstorm had come upon us with a very brilliant pink sky where we all rushed inside onto the dance floor to begin the party. I was able to witness for the first time in my life the Hora. Oh my goodness the Hora is incredible they lift the bride and the groom on chairs above everyone similar to crowd surfing.

DJ Joune was amazing and his mixing was just on point he really just made an amazing track overall with everything. Everyone was in on the dancing even Eleanor and Zach’s grandparents danced away and had some fun. Although the night ended earlier for me I cannot express enough just how amazing it was to be a part of Eleanor and Zac’s wedding day.

As a Utah wedding videographer, I love the couples that I meet and Eleanor & Zach are by far one of the best couples that I’ve met and just truly amazing individuals both inside and out.

These vendors are all incredible and I could definitely highly recommend each and every single one of them.

Silver Summit Events and Planning did not only the day of coordination the planning of the wedding but also the design they were amazing. They are both professional as well as easy-going and I highly recommend anybody who is looking for a wedding planner to hire these guys because they are phenomenal.

Meghan Christy and Aubrey Della Photography (Megan’s associated shooter) were both super easy to get along with and to work with and their work is both incredible and stunning. I would highly recommend working with either of these gals again as their work is elegant and beautiful but they’re also really easy to get along with and really focus on catching your day really well.

DJ JOUNE! This guy is one of the best DJs in the city of Utah hands-down he brought amazing energy when the dance floor whenever I went to the dance floor his music tracks in everything that he did or just phenomenal. Super easy to work with and was kind to let me be able to go through and to just use his staff as needed so that I could plug in my audio equipment and make sure that I was recording sound. I highly recommend DJ Joune as one of the best vendors and DJs to work within the state of Utah and would recommend him to anybody looking to have a fun time at the party.

Lux Catering and Events as a videographer I don’t get to eat a lot when I am out on the dance floor and working on the day but they were kind enough to give us at least 10 to 15 minutes to sit down to eat some of the amazing food they had also brought to cater to feed everybody else. I got the salmon with some veggies and a salad and let me tell you after shooting for our ready six hours a day it’s probably one of the best meals of my life today. I cannot recommend Lux Catering more they are incredibly professional they have a team handling everything and the food is amazing. If you are in need of a caterer you need to hire LUX Catering and Events.
